📢 Amid strong fluctuations in gold prices and the rising demand for gold and silver accumulation and investment, fraudsters have been taking advantage of the situation to carry out increasingly sophisticated online gold and silver trading scams.
🚨 COMMON SCAM METHODS
① Impersonation of reputable gold and jewelry brands’ fanpages and websites
② Risks from spontaneous gold trading groups on social media
③ Other fraudulent tactics
• Illegal gold trading applications
• Scam messages or emails impersonating gold companies
• “High-return gold investment” schemes that pool funds in groups
📌 IMPORTANT NOTES FOR CUSTOMERS
✔ Only buy or sell gold at businesses licensed by the State Bank of Vietnam, with legally registered offices and business locations.
✔ Prioritize in-person gold transactions; limit online gold trading, which is difficult to verify and carries higher risks.
✔ If purchasing online, carefully verify application, website, or fanpage information and activity history; always confirm the payment account before transferring funds and never transfer money to personal accounts that do not match the company’s name.
✔ Do not share sensitive personal or financial information with anyone.
✔ If you detect suspicious signs or become a victim of fraud, promptly report the case to the nearest police authority for timely assistance.
